Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played her role. In fear of stress, her parents did not want to see performing before she turned age 18. Perry was shy during high school and was not a performer. She began acting in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was transferred to the university from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University moved into New York in search of TV roles. Perry was able to land small roles on TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness drove her to California for theater roles. She performed on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. In 2015, she starred together with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer-winning drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. In 2017, she played an recurring role in the ABC drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. She was also cast in The CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The character was assigned by audition regardless of the fact that she is a relative to the character.
