Ina Garten is an acclaimed American cookbook author over the decades. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa that began in 2002. Ina began her writing career by with nuclear energy policy and budgets for the White House. While she initially found the work fascinating and intellectually stimulating however, she began to get bored. Barefoot Contessa was then purchased. Prior to selling the company, she spent an entire 18 years transforming it into an extremely successful business. Numerous other books as well as magazines followed. The Food Network television program also debuted and quickly became popular. Her range of items spans from appliances for kitchens to ingredient as well as storage containers. Ina is a self-taught cook that hasn't attended a cooking school, nor worked in the kitchen. Her name is associated with her casual approach to making food and hosting.
